Annual Reiswig Family Camping Trip

After the trip to the Oregon Coast, I went to my first annual Reiswig family camping trip.  Much of our extended family on Daddy’s side was there and I was able to meet a lot of them for the first time! As the pictures show I got lots of quality holding time with family, which happens to be one of my favorite activities. Other highlights were playing with Lynsey and Hannah in my play pen, going for a bike ride up to a beautiful lake, lots of hiking, and a treasure hunt where I found new toys hidden right there in the woods! Of course, all of this was quite strenuous activity, so I had Mom and Dad carry me everywhere, hee hee!

Hannah and I had some good times at camping. She held me while people played games, I showed her all my toys in the play pen, we had a blast!

This is a hike we went on. From left to right: Craig, Daddy, Mommy, Dalton, Noah, and Jackson. That’s me on Mommy’s back, and I’m out like a light. I can’t say I really remember much from that hike.

Apparently these crazies took a dip in the glacial runoff behind them while we were on the hike. Sure it was warm out, but was that really necessary?

Here we are with Hannah’s sister, Caitlin, and my cousin Zack. They were the closest in age to me of the whole group, but since camping I have a new cousin!!! Isaac was born on August 18th, and I am very excited to meet him and share all of my wisdom and life experience I have gained thus far.

Mommy and I play this awesome game where I become this flying superhero! Here’s an action shot.

I find you get to know people much better if you just thrust your hand in their face. This is Daddy’s cousin Tanya, who I also got some good holding time with.

We’re on the treasure hunt for toys that have been mysteriously hidden up here in the mountains. Who knows how long these toys have been here, and who knows how Grandma Reiswig has come across these clues, but let’s find some treasure!

Hannah had to coolest hat on one day. We played a fun game where I tried to take it while she tried to keep it away from me.

The hidden treasure!!! It was quite the adventure, but we found it. I was very excited, as you can see. I couldn’t get it in my mouth fast enough!

Here’s my man Jackson. Isn’t family great?!

What a group of kids, huh! Crawling doesn’t quite keep up with them, but next year I should be able to walk, so I’m planning on being right in the thick of things!

Here we are with Grandma and Grandpa Reiswig! I got some quality G&G time on this trip, from treasure hunts to good old fashioned holding time.

Here I am with Lynsey, another one of my good play pen buddies.

The Oregon Coast

Here are some pictures of our trip to the Oregon coast, where I went to the beach for the first time!  So, I’m quite practiced in kitchen floor, rug, grass, and even hardwoods.  This sand stuff though is weird!  I couldn’t get over it - solid, yet not.  Soft, yet grainy.  And then that ocean, it looks like it goes farther than some of the road trips I’ve been on!  We had a great time and I’m looking forward to the next trip to the beach.

Here we are on the beautiful Oregon coast! What an introduction to the beach!
The ocean is awesome! It’s so big that I think Mommy might be a little scared of it, she kept running away every time it came up to us! She was smiling and laughing a lot though...
Daddy holding me up, probably trying to keep my hands from getting dirty. My parents are good at stuff like that.

Ha! I am free to move about in the sand at my will! I will smush it between my fingers and, when the time is right, covertly place some in my mouth.

Man, just when I think I have figured this sand stuff out, Dad pulls out this trick!

Mesmerizing...

Sand castles, hooray! I made short work of this one after this picture was taken.

We stayed in a cute little cabin right next to the beach. I spent some time in this spot, mirrors are odd things.

My First Haircut

So, I’ve had a head of hair from day one, and when 9 months came and passed, it seemed that the time was right for a hair cut.  Mommy did the honors while Daddy held my hands and took pictures.  I did not find the experience of a haircut all too bad.  It was not as fun as standing or eating watermelon, but I guess staying fashionable comes with a price.  I am now one stylin’ little dude!

Yes, at only 9 months this is how long my hair is! No tricks of the light here, this is pure, 100% baby hair.
After rigorous tryouts, Mom ended up being my personal hairstylist of choice due to her impeccable form, as demonstrated here.
After all that hard work growing hair, it’s back to square one.

Oh ya, the style is starting to take form!

Mom combing my hair to cut with precision. Man she’s good!

Another Trip to See Family

We headed up to my Grandparents’ house in Northport again and I was able to see a lot of family, and a lot of dogs.  At one point there were 7 dogs running around!  I am now convinced my family is running a secret dog kennel that no one knows about.  We had a lot of fun hiking around and playing.  Everyone seemed pretty impressed with my ability to stand, I’m getting to be pretty good at it now.

Having a good time with Aunt Lacey. It seems like every time I start having a great time, there is Mom or Dad with a camera.  Aunt Lacey is handling it pretty well, but frankly I’m getting a little annoyed with it!

Laughin’ it up with Aunt Lacey and Great Aunt Scooter. I get along very well with my family, we all love to smile!

Here is the pack of animals that roamed the land that week. 7 dogs, 28 feet, pounds of slobber, enough energy to power Missoula - no matter how you look at it, this is a lot of dog!

All the dogs had a great time in the creek. I decided to not jump in with them, maybe next time, or in five years.

A beautiful view on Grandma and Grandpa Stewart's property.

Grandma Stewart, Aunt Chelsea and Mom in a daisy filled meadow. I don't understand, the fourth picture in a row without me?!

Aunt Chelsea and I posing for the camera.

Here we all are with Great Grandpa's house in the background. Who is that handsome man in the middle with the squeakers (i.e. really cool shoes)?!

First Real Shoes!

I just graduated into real shoes today.  I am getting so big!  My first pair ever.  They are comfortable, stylish and they squeak!!!!  I can’t believe it.  Mom and dad say the squeakers are supposed to help me learn to walk on my heels, but I know what they are really for...making noise!  If you’re happy and you know it clap your feet!
Here I am about to go on a short hike in Missoula with Mom and Dad. Mom and Dad did all the walking though, these beauts are new! Dust and rocks are no place for shoes like these.

Check out this close up of these bad boys. And buried somewhere inside that beautiful sole is the magic that is the squeaker.

You know when you put on a shoe and it just feels so right?
