Isaiah is Born!!! The First 24 Hours

Introducing Isaiah!!!  This picture was taken right after he came out of the Operating Room.  Look at that head of hair!  He has black hair and dark brown eyes just like his birthmom Tawnie.  He weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19 inches long.  Isaiah has a good strong cry, ten little fingers, ten little toes and an adorable face.  What a blessing from God!
Isaiah and Tawnie after she came out of recovery.  She had to have a c-section due to preeclampsia.  Her blood pressure was elevated and her platelet count was low.  We were all praying that she would come out of surgery healthy and God answered our prayers.  She is now recovering and doing well.
This is the first time I was able to hold Isaiah.  I was overcome with joy and thankfulness for the miracle in my arms.  He is a treasure and a gift from God.  I was crying with tears of joy.
Holding Isaiah for the first time - what an amazing feeling!  He is such a blessing from God.  I could seriously hold him all day and never get tired of it.  We are so excited to watch him grow through each stage of life.
This is Isaiah with his Great Grandma Pam and his Grandma Angie.  Isaiah is blessed with lots of loving people who have prayed for him and were so thankful for his healthy arrival.
Isaiah's first burping.  He ate quite a bit in the first few hours of life, but has slowed down since.  He's sleeping lots and eating little bits now.
Sleeping content in his daddy's arms.  Isn't he adorable.  He likes to be bundled up in a little blanket cocoon.  He's wearing two hats so that his temperature stays up.  One of them is an adorable knitted hat donated by the Stitchers with Love group who knits hats for all of the new babies born at Kootenia County Hospital.

Opening his eyes and looking at the world from Tawnie's arms.  Here are a few words from Tawnie:

Well this is my first child and I love him but right now he is in his parents proper care right now I spent days with him and loving him so much he knows me now I see he is a beautiful baby and he will be good for paul and lindsey.
Here is Tawnie with her family, who are all very important to her.  From left to right: Angie, Gabe, Tawnie, Isaiah, John, and Kelli.  Over the last several months we have come to know Tawnie's family quite well.  They are wonderful people who love God, and we are so blessed to have become a part of their lives.  Isaiah is going to have a very large family full of people who love him, and we are so thankful for that.

More of Isaiah's large family, here are John's parents, great grandpa Norbert and great grandma Pam.  They also are wonderful people who have been so supportive of Tawnie and of the adoption.
This is Gabe taking a close, loving look at Isaiah.  Gabe is sooo cute, his truck obsession and all!

  2. We are sooooo thankful for such a healthy and beautiful gift from God. Words cannot express our joy. In the second picture Isaiah looks like Isaiah is saying "I am 5 minutes old!". We can't wait to see him in person and hold him. We are praying for everyone in the family. Love, Grandma Janie and Grandpa Lee Reiswig.
