Summer Fun

Summer finally started in Missoula, so mom and dad decided to do what they always do when the sun is visible - go outside.  We went for a hike up Mt. Jumbo and enjoyed the view.  A few days later we headed to Great Falls to celebrate the 4th of July with daddy and got to see a buffalo jump that was used for thousands of years by the Native Americans. On the cooler days, Cosmo and I keep tabs on the neighborhood - you never know what might go down. Finally we headed to grandma and grandpa Stewart's for a quick visit and some amazing inner-tubing down the creek (I napped for that) before mom and dad headed off to celebrate their 10th anniversary (more on that later). Enjoy all of the sunshine - we sure did!

Hero that I am, I was giving directions to the woman who stopped to chat with us.  She talked for so long I thought she was lost.

Another mountain summitted.

All of us at the First People’s Buffalo Jump. If we had been standing here 500 years ago we would have been stampeded by 150 buffalo.

Thousands of years of stampeding footprints embedded in the rock.

The cliff from which the buffalo jumped.

Neighborhood block watch.

Aunt Chelsea and I sharing our affinity for the forest.

Enjoying the cool forest breezes on a hot day.

A good bounce is a surefire way to get me giggling. Mommy knows all the little tricks.

You think this is impressive? I also drove the RTV and had my first lesson on the backhoe.

Grandma and Grandpa Reiswig Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Reiswig came for a visit in early July.  We had fun taking walks, reading stories, playing in the back yard and watching daddy and grandpa build a cabinet for our bathroom (mommy is over the  moon about this development). We caught up on lots of hugs while they were here, ate ice cream and had lots of fun together.  I can't wait for the next visit!

There’s nothing like a good story, told by grandma, to get me in the mood for bedtime.

Sometimes all you need is your blanket and a big hug - thanks Grandpa!

I’ve reached the epitome of cool - I’m picking my nose and wearing hats that are too big for me.

Step aside Similac Sensative, there’s a new king in town: the chai shake.

Race car drivers have to start somewhere.

The ladies love this.

I had a great time relaxing with grandma and grandpa Reiswig, while they visited us in Missoula.

Grrrr....they’ve discovered my new hiding spot.  I was coming here to snack, read books and otherwise get some much needed peace and quite, but I guess that’s all over now.

New Adventures

Hello everybody!!! Here are some pictures of the adventures I've been on as of late.  First, we went to Garnet Ghost Town way out in the mountains outside of Missoula.  This town was built in the late 1800's and is now completely vacant.  I was able to turn a blind eye to the fact that the word "ghost" was in the name of the town, but as we crested the final hill before the town I couldn't help but fall in step behind mommy and daddy.  All my fears were for naught, not to worry everybody, there are no ghosts in ghost towns.  I also received a shovel and bucket, which proved very useful in the sandbox at my local park. Some dirt just needs to be moved.  I also participated in a photo shoot at grandma Stewart's house.  My friends, Addy, Weston and myself, are not the poster children for Dirty Kids Soap.  Watch the billboards folks, you'll see us there soon. Enjoy!

Oooooo! My first visit to a ghost town. Garnet Ghost Town to be exact.

Checking out some of the antique furniture and no grandma, it’s not for sale :0).

Walking in like I own the place cause that’s how I roll.

The Garnet Ghost Town expedition - me, mom, dad, Rachel, Jeremy, Addie, and Weston.

My these apprenticeships are tough.

Daddy tells the best jokes.

This sand is helpless before me and my shovel.

Grandma, stop tickling my nose :0)!

I do a great impression of grandpa (the hat prop helps).

Watering the bucket.

The three dirty kids looking the part.

If I can get mom to bring the camera a little bit closer, then......

I’m digging a moat that will fortify my domain.

Visiting With My Family

In early June my birth family came for a visit.  We had a great time catching up, checking out their new travel trailer and eating gelato - yum! I can't wait to see them again.

Reading some Seuss with Tawnie.

Good times with aunt Kellie.

Grandma Angie shared a secret with me.

Grandpa Jon looks at the amazing twig I found.

Aunt Kellie, uncle Gabe and I hangin out.

Tawnie and I are counting to five. She’s a great teacher.

I love it when by birthfamily visits me.  We had a fun afternoon together, including hang out time and gelato - yum!

Oscar gives me a kiss.

I'm Growing Up

Well folks, I'm getting bigger, faster and louder.  Mom and dad are constantly amazed by the number of words I'm saying, the speed with which I can escape them (I love to run) and the decibel at which I am now capable of screaming.  I know all of this because I can now accurately read their faces, at least 50% of  the time, when I shock them, surprise them or amaze them.  Who knew one little person could do so much!  My newest words are yogurt and ridiculous and my first sentence was "That's a monkey" (I am the current owner of some great, monkey covered, dish ware). I love to smile, giggle, talk on the phone (or at least pretend to), and there is nothing I love more than a good house project that allows me to use the fabulous tools that mommy found at a thrift store for me. Tape measure anyone?

Chatting it up with Tawnie.

Time to show daddy how it’s done.

Surrounded by tools - this is the life!!!

Filling the big shoes.

Birkenstocks are sooo comfortable.  I wish I had a pair.

Mommy’s going away party at Auntie’s.  I think I stole some of her thunder...oops.

Stewing about how to get ahold of some of that Similac Sensative.  Oh no, I have not forgotten the delectable, palatable flavor that was the joy of my youth. Sigh.

Saying goodbye to Chris, but only for a little while.  I will visit again and this time maybe I can get ahold of her Panda beanie baby - boy that thing is cute.

Hmmm. Mommy’s holding scissors and she seems to be eyeing my hair again.

Yup. She got me.

Two of my favorite things in the world. Books and my “blank.”

My favorite outfit.

BALLOONS!!!!!!

Whoa, these things can fly!

I do believe this is the funnest thing ever.

John Deere does it again!  Check out my ride.

I love to collect sticks.  If mommy would let me I’d have a priceless collection. Why she wouldn't want hundreds of sticks in the house is beyond me!

I think I’ll give him another 30 seconds of rest, but then he’d better move it cause we have a lot to see today.

Well, hello there.

Checking out the dandelion garden while the dogs do some serious sniffing.
